Following last night's impressive Samba comeback Binghamiham has issued a statement via his agent Eric 'monster-monster' Hall suggesting he is "fully fit and willing to fight for his first-team place". He had earlier issued a denial that he was about to issue a come-and-get-me plea to Samba's rivals Kentfica.
Manager Matt Carltona stated that "Binghamiham still has a role to play for Samba Quays, at the moment it is difficult to break up a winning squad, but I can assure you that if he continues to work hard in training a first team opportunity will come sooner rather than later.... probably in a 9.15pm kick-off".
Binghamiham had been thought to be surplus to Carltona's requirements and a whole host of Div 3 and 4 clubs had expressed their desire to sign the tough defender. Eltham John were favourites to make the signing following their recent big money takeover by a Middle Eastern consortium of Kebab shop owners but it looks like his future lies with Samba Quays for now.
Carltona commented:
"It will be like signing a £20m player when Binghamiham returns to the first team. He's has been out of action for a while now but he has got married during his lay-off, and I'm pleased about this. I prefer my players to be settled and not chasing skirt in nightclubs like China Whites. That was one of the reasons for Samba's demise when we had sex pests like Baz and Tom Whiddett in the side.
But back to Binghamiham, I have a big role for him next week as Will Coulter is away and there is a goalkeeper position up for grabs...."
